About Us

The Butterfly Ave is a resort and swimwear brand created by Fashion and Textile Designer  Shahedah Williams. Butterfly Ave, formerly known as Shahedah Textiles, was established in 2015 after Williams graduated college and wanted to create a space where she could exist in the fashion industry. Carnival and masquerade elements are incorporated within the brand, which ties in to Williams Trinidadian roots. We also incorporate print design and storytelling elements. Shahedah is also the founder of Prom Scholar inc. a non profit based in Trenton,NJ. Every year Prom Scholar provides students with custom looks for prom and funds their entire prom experience. The Prom Scholar team also serves as mentors to the students and do other acts of community service.
